Coronation Street fans were stunned and pleaded 'spare me' as they reacted to Kirk Sutherland's underwear admission. Monday night's trip to the cobbles (April 17) saw Beth Sutherland telling her husband that she was heading into town after finishing her shift at the factory.

But as viewers of the ITV soap saw, she was meeting up with her ex-Marco who first appeared on the cobbles last month when Beth got in touch with her former flame following a bit of interference from Rovers Return barmaid Glenda Shuttleworth.

When letting Kirk know where she'll be, he made an unintentionally cheeky confession about his "crown jewels." "I’m desperate for some new underpants," Kirk told Beth as he believed she was about to head into town to do some shopping. "What about that multipack I got you at Christmas," she asked to which he replied: "They are too tight.

My crown jewels feel like they are trapped in a vice." READ MORE: Join the FREE Manchester Evening News WhatsApp community "Oh stop exaggerating," Beth snapped back.
