Aston Martin have confirmed that Nyck de Vries will drive for them in FP1 at the Italian Grand Prix on Friday.
The team has revealed that the Dutch driver will take one of their slots for drivers in free practice sessions that have raced in no more than two Grands Prix, and it also represents the third session of the year that De Vries will partake in.
He has driven for both Williams and his parent team, Mercedes, this season and it’s clear that relationship with the Silver Arrows is helping him get these opportunities.
Both Williams and Aston Martin have Mercedes power in the back of their cars and so have obliged, with De Vries taking the place of Sebastian Vettel at Monza in FP1. “I am really looking forward to driving for AMF1,” said the 2021 Formula E champion.
