Diogo Dalot insists Manchester United players are prepared to "hear things that maybe we don’t want to hear" from manager Erik ten Hag.
Ten Hag has imposed himself impressively since taking over as United manager and presided over three wins and a draw during their pre-season tour of Thailand and Australia.
Already, Ten Hag's disciplinarian nature has been evident during training and in matches when the Dutchman rebuked a United player against Crystal Palace and described a piece of play by a youngster in training as "f-----g rubbish".
Ten Hag panned United's second-half performance against Aston Villa in Perth as they let a two-goal lead slip to draw 2-2. Dalot echoed his manager's comments that it was better to commit the mistakes now before the competitive campaign commences. "We need to be ready for that, to be ready to hear things that maybe we don’t want to hear, but I think everything is for the greater good of the team and that’s the most important thing. "We should have come into the second-half a little bit more lively, obviously we were winning 2-0 but we need to keep the tempo, keep the ball, we don’t want to concede so many counter-attacks that we conceded. "But it is something to learn for the future.
