Ireland endured a tough opening day in their Davis Cup Play-Off tie with Peru at the Estadio Asia.The Irish team were underdogs going into the encounter with the South Americans as they attempt to secure a spot in World Group 1.In the opening match Irish number one Simon Carr was well beaten by Gonzalo Bueno, winning just two games as he went down 6-1, 6-1.Osgar O'hOisin pushed his opponent Arklon Huertas Del Pino Cordova closer but was still beaten 6-2, 6-3.Michael Agwi and Jack Molloy are in doubles action tomorrow while Carr and O'hOisin will play Bueno and Del Pino Cordova in reverse matches.Ireland need to win all three of Saturday's match to overhaul Peru’s 2-0 lead, a feat that looks to be unlikely.
