After becoming the Division I women's college basketball all-time scoring leader last month, Caitlin Clark has added another record to her résumé — the top scorer in NCAA Division I basketball history, men's or women's.
Clark entered Sunday's matchup against the No. 2 Ohio State Buckeyes averaging 32.2 points per game and 18 points away from passing LSU Tigers legend Pete Maravich's record.
Maravich scored 3,667 points in three seasons with the Tigers, 1967-70. During her final regular-season home game as a collegiate athlete, the Iowa Hawkeyes guard passed Maravich with a technical foul free throw with 0.3 seconds remaining in the second quarter.
In her previous game, Clark's 33 points against the Minnesota Golden Gophers put her ahead of Lynette Woodard's AIAW major college record of 3,649 career points.
