The BCCI on Thursday announced Team India's squads for the white-ball series against England to be played after the rescheduled fifth Test.

India and England will play three T20Is, followed by as many ODIs, from July 7 to 17. After being ruled out of the rescheduled fifth Test, skipper Rohit Sharma will make his return for the white-ball games, according to a BCCI release.

Rohit Sharma had tested positive for COVID-19 during India's tour game against Leicestershire. Meanwhile, young pacer Arshdeep Singh also received his maiden ODI call-up.

Arshdeep was part of India's squad for the two-match T20I series against Ireland, but failed to find a place in the playing XI in both games.

India captain Rohit Sharma on Tuesday shared a picture with former India all-rounder Yuvraj Singh on Instagram. The two are all smiles as they hug each other in the picture. "Met my long lost friend after ages," Rohit captioned the picture, with a heart-eyes emoji. Yuvraj Singh responded to the picture and wrote "My brothaman". However, former India spinner Harbhajan Singh, who has played his fair share of cricket with both Rohit and Yuvraj, gatecrashed their bromance with a hilarious comment, trolling the latter.
Following his side's five-wicket win over England in the final ODI, skipper Rohit Sharma became the third captain to win an ODI series in England. Rishabh Pant's unbeaten 125* and his 133-run partnership with star all-rounder Hardik Pandya helped India chase down 260 in the final ODI of the three-match series at Manchester and win the series 2-1. England were bundled out for 259 thanks to some brilliant spells from the likes of Hardik Pandya (4/24) and Yuzvendra Chahal (3/60).
India and England face off on Sunday for the third and deciding ODI at Old Trafford in Manchester. The three-match series is currently level at 1-1 with both India and England registering one dominating win each. In the first game, India ruled the roost by bundling out England for 110 runs and then won the game by 10 wickets. The hosts were quick to bounce back after the humiliating defeat and handed India a 100-run loss to take the series to the decider.
Rohit Sharma backed Virat Kohli, who is currently struggling with bad form, saying he is such a great batsman and does not need reassurance. "He (Kohli) has played so many matches. He is playing for so many years. He is such a great batsman, so he does not need reassurance," Rohit said in a post-match press conference. Having sat out the first ODI on Tuesday due to a groin strain, Kohli took a sort of batting fitness test on the morning of the seond ODI on Thursday, before giving a firm nod to India coach Rahul Dravid about him being ready.
Star India batter Virat Kohli would be desperate to come out of his prolonged lean patch when he makes his T20 return after five months with the second game against England, in Birmingham on Saturday. Kohli, who last played a T20 international in February, has featured in only two games since India's underwhelming campaign in the T20 World Cup in October-November when he was captain of the national side. The only T20 cricket he played since then was in the IPL but there too he was far from his best.
The Indian T20I cricket team gets down to business yet again with a match against T20 World Cup semi-finalists England in Southampton on Thursday. The series is part of the contests that the Rohit Sharma-led Team India will play in the lead up to the 2022 T20 World Cup, starting in Australia in less than three months. Regular captain Rohit is back in the team after recovering from COVID-19, due to which he missed the fifth rescheduled Test at Edgbaston. However, the team will be without other top stars like Virat Kohli, Rishabh Pant and Jasprit Bumrah. They have been rested after playing the Test that ended on Monday.
