India's Predicted XI vs West Indies, 3rd T20I: Will Sanju Samson Make Way For Yashasvi Jaiswal?

After facing two back-to-back defeats in the ongoing five-match series, Team India will be taking on West Indies in the third T20I match on Tuesday.

India will need to bat with the fearlessness they often talk about as they look to avoid a series defeat. The slow pitches on offer have not been the best for batting but as skipper Hardik Pandya pointed out after the loss on Sunday, India should have a found way to score additional 10-20 runs.

The top-order's failure has put extra pressure on the likes of Sanju Samson and rookie Tilak Varma, who has taken to international cricket like fish to water.

With focus on ODIs in a World Cup year, Gill, Kishan and Suryakumar would want to be amongst runs ahead of the Asia Cup beginning August 31. Here's what we think could be India's XI for the second T20I vs West Indies: Yashasvi Jaiswal: After a dream start to his Test career, which saw him slam a century on his debut, Jaiswal will hope for a similar, if not better, start to his T20I career.

The Jasprit Bumrah-led Team India will be taking on Ireland in the second T20I of the three-match series on Sunday at The Village, Dublin. Pace sensation Jasprit Bumrah ticked all the boxes on his much-anticipated return to lead India to a two-run win over Ireland by DLS Method in a rain-interrupted first T20I on Friday. Bumrah claimed 2 for 24 with nine dot balls and formed a formidable pair with T20I debutant Prasidh Krishna (2/32) to restrict Ireland to 139 for 7 after opting to bowl.
India went on an experimentation spree in the limited overs series against the West Indies but not much came out of it except Tilak Varma emerging as a contender for a World Cup middle-order slot on the back of his exploits in the T20 series. Ahead of the Asia Cup and subsequent World Cup, India were looking for options in the middle-order in the ODI series but the number four slot remains up for grabs.
Sanju Samson failed to impress in the T20I series against West Indies. The batter returned scores of 12, 7, and 13 against the Caribbean side. In two matches, he batted at the number 5 position while in one game he came in at number 6 spot. Star Indian player Abhishek Nayar believes that the team mismanaged the wicketkeeper-batter by sending him in the lower-middle order. It is worth noting that Samson usually bats at number 3 or 4 position in Indian Premier League and domestic cricket.
India batter Shubman Gill failed to end the West Indies T20I series on a high as he was dismissed on a score of nine in the fifth and final match in Lauderhill on Sunday. Less than 24 hours ago, Gill returned to form with a brilliant 77 in the fourth T20I at the same venue. It seemed that Gill would end the series on a high after failing to score runs in the first three matches. However, he was dismissed LBW by Akeal Hosein, who had also dismissed his opening partner, Yashasvi Jaiswal, in the first over of the match.
