Ian Wright’s eyebrow-raising comments about Liverpool and the Premier League have gone viral on social media. The Arsenal legend was speaking on stage at the OTB Cadbury FC Roadshow when he praised Jurgen Klopp’s side for making English football’s top division interesting over the past few seasons.
Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City have won the Premier League title in four of the past five seasons, while Liverpool were crowned champions of England for the first time since 1990 at the end of the 2019-20 campaign.
Liverpool finished one point behind City in both the 2018-19 and 2021-22 seasons. And the Reds are expected to be City’s closest challengers for the title once again this term.
