One of Erik ten Hag's former players has explained what the Dutchman lacked at Manchester United - and why Arne Slot is doing so well at Liverpool.
Ten Hag, 54, was sacked by the Red Devils barely 24 hours after their 2-1 away defeat to West Ham United. The Dutchman departs with the club currently languishing in 14th place in the Premier League and 21st in the Europa League table.
Meanwhile, Slot, who Ten Hag faced on many occasions while managing Ajax, is enjoying a strong debut campaign at Anfield and recently secured a 2-2 draw away to Arsenal.
If anybody could sum up why both manager's fortunes have been so different this season, then it may be Mark Diemers, who played for both.
