I preferred Arne Slot to Erik ten Hag - ex-Man United boss was really bad at one thing
One of Erik ten Hag's former players has explained what the Dutchman lacked at Manchester United - and why Arne Slot is doing so well at Liverpool.
Ten Hag, 54, was sacked by the Red Devils barely 24 hours after their 2-1 away defeat to West Ham United. The Dutchman departs with the club currently languishing in 14th place in the Premier League and 21st in the Europa League table.
Meanwhile, Slot, who Ten Hag faced on many occasions while managing Ajax, is enjoying a strong debut campaign at Anfield and recently secured a 2-2 draw away to Arsenal. If anybody could sum up why both manager's fortunes have been so different this season, then it may be Mark Diemers, who played for both.

Diemers, who plays for Dutch second division side, Cambuur, had a spell under Ten Hag at Utrecht before joining Slot's Feyenoord side. The 30-year-old midfielder recently pointed out the one thing Slot certainly had over Ten Hag.
In a previous interview with ESPN Netherlands, Diemers said: "I choose Arne Slot. I can only talk from my time. I found Ten Hag insanely good tactically, so were his training sessions.
"But I just didn't think he was very good, at that time, on a human level. But that was already six or seven years ago. I thought Slot was a lot stronger on a human level.
