‘I’m doing a good job’ - Wout Weghorst hits back at Manchester United critics

Wout Weghorst says the fact he has started each of his 18 matches since signing for Manchester United shows that Erik ten Hag trusts him, as the striker hit back at critics.

The Dutchman has begun every game United have played since his arrival amid the long-term injuries of Anthony Martial but has only registered two goals in two months.

His low rate of fire has drawn criticism from some pundits who have questioned his loan transfer. Ten Hag has often noted the defensive and pressing work ethic of Weghorst and has opted to play him in a deeper number 10 role on several occasions this year.

The attacker himself insists that he is doing a good job overall despite his low goals return.
