I expected a new contract from Ed Woodward and broke down in tears after leaving Manchester United

Plenty of Manchester United players have been accused of not caring in the last 10 years. Ander Herrera was not one of them.

The midfielder won fans' hearts during his time in Manchester and even broke down in tears when discussing his exit from the club years later. "To leave, it was difficult because six months before, five months before, I was expecting that offer for me to stay.

I don't want to... it's not the moment to talk bad about anyone and I am not going to do it, but after my third season with the club I expected a little bit more," he said. "I got the Player of the Year award by the fans and the club didn't call me that summer to sign a new contract, and they did with other players.

That was painful for me, honestly. ALSO READ: Exclusive interview with Paul Scholes and Nicky Butt ALSO READ: I joined United training and saw what the players are really like "I think I deserved it and they didn't do it.
