Huddersfield Town credentials will be challenged after loss of key trio and 'crazy' play-off final

Sky Sports presenter David Prutton has questioned whether Huddersfield Town can repeat their success of last season, following the losses of Carlos Corberan, Lewis O’Brien and Harry Toffolo.

Huddersfield finished 20th with the worst defensive record in the Championship in Corberan’s debut season at the helm but underwent a remarkable transformation to reach the play-off final last term.

They were defeated by Nottingham Forest under controversial circumstances and Toffolo and O’Brien’s departures to Forest has rubbed further salt into the wounds.

Prutton criticised Jon Moss’s refereeing in the final at Wembley, describing his performance as ‘crazy’ considering the monumental nature of the occasion. “The feeling in that place, and I’m not remotely saying anything about a higher power or anything, but it was as if it was Nottingham Forest’s day,” the former Forest and Southampton midfielder said on the Mirror's Championship preview. “There were two unbelievable, well one or two unbelievable decisions.
