Brighton defender Adam Webster admits his side had to raise their game when Manchester United brought Cristiano Ronaldo off the bench on Sunday afternoon.
United were two goals down on the opening day of the new Premier League campaign when they turned to the Portuguese ace in an effort to change their fortunes.
Ronaldo, 37, offered an instant threat from the bench, but it was compatriot Diogo Dalot who helped to change the course of the game when his effort was turned over the line by Alexis Mac Allister. "We spoke about it before," he told reporters after the match. "We were pretty sure he wasn't going to start, but he was always going to come on at some point. "When he does, in and around the box you've got to be so alive and try and stop their crosses, get some contact on the ball because he is one of the best goal scorers to ever do it.
