Former Manchester United captain Gary Neville has revealed the details of the conversation he had with Cristiano Ronaldo ahead of the Reds' 2-1 win over Liverpool at Old Trafford on Monday evening.

Ronaldo, who started United's first win of the season on the bench, came across to speak to Neville and fellow former United teammate Roy Keane ahead of kick-off.

Neville and Keane were part of Sky Sports' punditry team for the televised fixture and were conducting their pre-match analysis pitchside.

Having noticed the duo, Ronaldo, who was still going through his pre-match warm-up, jogged across to the side of the pitch and had a very brief conversation with the pair.
