The Indian cricket team has the 3-match T20I series against Afghanistan in their kitty, having won the first two matches convincingly.

While the likes of Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shivam Dube, Ravi Bishnoi, Axar Patel, etc. have impressed, skipper Rohit Sharma's form hasn't been the best.

After getting run-out in the first match without opening his account, Rohit fell for a duck in the second match too. Though there is no question about the Hitman's ability, former India cricketer Aakash Chopra has questioned his shot selection after the strange dismissal in the second T20I on Sunday.

Rohit looked to step out and smash the ball on the first delivery he faced from Fazalhaq Farooqi. But, missed the ball completely and saw it hit the stumps.

Veteran Indian cricket team wicket-keeper batter Dinesh Karthik was not pleased with Rohit Sharma's 'defensive' approach on Day 4 of the first Test match against England on Sunday. Resuming at 316/6, Ollie Pope ended up scoring 196 as India were given a target of 231. Karthik said that India were very defensive in their approach from the start of the day and although it was understandable to be conservative in their tactics against Pope, he pointed out that against tail-enders like Tom Hartley, Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja should have had attacking fielders to create pressure.
Former India opener Aakash Chopra has suggested that Yashasvi Jaiswal is slightly ahead of Shubman Gill in the pecking order as captain Rohit Sharma's partner at the top in T20Is. Since making his debut last year, Jaiswal has been in stunning form in the shortest format of the game. Gill's form, on the other hand, has dipped since the ODI World Cup last year in India. With the T20 World Cup scheduled to be held later this year, Chopra feels Jaiswal will open the innings with Rohit during the tournament.
Indian cricket team skipper Rohit Sharma was livid over a 'controversial run' involving Mohammad Nabi and Rahmanullah Gurbaz during the third T20I encounter against Afghanistan in Bengaluru on Wednesday. On the final ball of the first Super Over, Nabi missed a yorker from Mukesh Kumar and as they went for the single, a throw from Sanju Samson from behind the stumps hit the batter and went towards long-on. The batters ended up completing two more runs and take their score to 16. Rohit was not happy at all with the batters taking advantage of the situation and although he ended up having an interaction with Nabi over the run, the extra two runs were deemed legit by the on-field umpires.
It was a sensational performance from Indian cricket team skipper Rohit Sharma as he slammed a record fifth T20I century to guide his team to victory against Afghanistan in Bengaluru on Wednesday. Rohit became the first batter to score five centuries in the shortest format of the sport - adding another feather to his already illustrious career. The Indian cricket team finally needed two Super Overs to clinch the match and Rohit ended up being the top performer. Wife Ritika Sajdeh took to social media to react to his feat and she posted a picture on her Instagram along with a short caption -"Special, just special."
Rohit Sharma and Rinku Singh slammed 36 runs in one over but with just five sixes during the third T20I encounter against Afghanistan in Bengaluru on Wednesday. In the last over of the Indian innings, Rohit slammed Karim Janat for a four on the first ball and a six off the second ball which was a no-ball. The next ball was a free-hit that went for another six. On the following delivery which was the third legitimate ball of the over, Rohit could only manage to take a single. Rinku Singh faced the next last three balls and the left-hander slammed three sixes off them to take the score to 212. This was the third time in T20I history after Yuvraj Singh and Kieron Pollard's achievements that 36 runs were scored in one over - the most in T20I history.
India beat Afghanistan in third T20 International after two thrilling super overs in Bengaluru on Wednesday. Chasing 212, Afghanistan too ended with the same score. India equalled Afghanistan's score of 16 in the first super over to stretch the match, but the visitors could not chase down a target of 12 in the second super over as Rohit Sharma's side picked the required two wickets through Ravi Bishnoi. Earlier, riding on skipper Rohit Sharma's unbeaten 69-ball 121 and Rinku Singh's 69 off 39 deliveries, India staged a remarkable recovery to post 212 for four after slipping to 22 for four in the fifth over.
