Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher both believe Liverpool could hunt down Manchester United after the Reds' defeat at West Ham United.

Jurgen Klopp's side moved to within a point of Erik ten Hag's side over the weekend. Liverpool beat Brentford 1-0 at Anfield whilst United fell down by the same score line at the London Stadium.

United still have a game in hand with just three weeks of the Premier League campaign remaining. However, with Ten Hag's men losing momentum, Neville believes Liverpool will sense an opportunity. "Liverpool will sense a little bit of blood and try and ramp it up," Neville said on the Gary Neville Podcast, speaking before United's defeat to West Ham. "Jurgen Klopp and his players will be going into training tomorrow thinking we have got a chance here. There is a job to do for Newcastle and Manchester United but they should have enough in the tank to get over the line." Carragher was more pessimistic on Liverpool's chance before the United defeat.
