GAA: Mayo defeat Dublin with late point to continue unbeaten start

A late point from Fergal Boland secured Mayo a dramatic 1-12 to 0-14 win in Saturday's Division One fixture in Castlebar. The All-Ireland champions started the game well, with Jack McCafferkey impressing as he was among the early scorers to get into a 0-5 to 0-1 lead after 17 minutes.

Helped by frees from Ryan O'Donoghue, Mayo found a way back into the game and went in level at half-time with the score 0-8 each.

Dublin started the second half the same as the first with the first three scores of the game. However, Mayo took the lead through a goal from Stephen Coen, after he got on to the end of Jordan Flynn's high ball.

The sides were level on a number of occasions in the final minutes, as both pushed for the winning score. Then, in the 71st minute, up stepped Boland with a the winning point after a clever free kick.

Appearing in a first knockout match in Europe's premier club competition for seven years, Arsenal struggled to break down an organised Porto defence before Galeno's stroke of brilliance in the 94th minute. The defeat ended Arsenal's eight-game unbeaten run against Portuguese opposition and the Gunners with plenty of work to do in the return leg in London on March 12.
