Dublin proved too much for Derry as they ran out 1-16 to 1-11 winners in Celtic Park. It was Dublin who started the quickest of the sides, with some excellent scores from Ciaran Kilkenny and Ross McGarry helping the All-Ireland champions to a 0-7 to 0-3 lead after 24 minutes.

Derry got back into the game through a well taken goal from Conor McCluskey, as they finished the first half strong as Dublin took a 0-9 to 1-4 lead into the break.

Dublin started the second half similar to the first, with Cormac Costello scoring a goal just after he came on to give them a 1-12 to 1-7 lead i the 52nd minute.

From that moment on, Derry couldn't get back into the game, as Dublin kept the scoreboard ticking to run out five-point winners, in an impressive victory.
