Livingston midfielder Andrew Shinnie and Ayr United defender Frankie Musonda were team-mates at Luton Town not too long ago.

Now, after watching the Hatters' dramatic rise to the Premier League, the good pals are set to face-off for a place in the Viaplay Cup quarter-final.

Shinnie (34) was a key part of the side as they won back-to-back promotions from League Two, while Zambian international Frankie never made the grade - appearing in just three league fixtures before a chat with his ex team-mate convinced him to move to Scotland, initially with Raith Rovers before signing for the Honest Men last summer.

Friendship will be put aside for the afternoon, though, as the veteran hopes he has the bragging rights come full-time, commenting: "I have a good friend Frankie who is at Ayr and I used to play with Jamie Murphy.
