Former Liverpool player Dirk Kuyt has joked he 'never forgave' best mate Robin van Persie for joining Manchester United. The Dutchman joined United in the summer of 2012 and plundered in 26 goals and 15 assists in the Premier League.
United, unsurprisingly, went on to win the title under Sir Alex Ferguson in his final season before retirement. Kuyt and Van Persie are good friends having played together for the Netherlands and the former Liverpool man joked that he never accepted Van Persie's move to arch-rivals United.
Featuring on talkSPORT, Kuyt was asked to play a game of 'Start, Bench or Sell', having to elect three chosen former teammates for each role hypothetically. Explaining that he keeps contact with both of his former Liverpool colleagues, he opted to start Suarez because he "had a great time with him", although admitting it was not as long as he hoped for.
