By Steve Acteson A magazine has ranked Canterbury Golf Club's “shocked” former head professional Danny Maude 51st on their list of the 100 most influential people in world golf.
Maude runs and fronts a highly successful YouTube coaching video site which now has more than 900,000 subscribers and has been named as the No.1 golf coaching channel in the world.
He was amazed to even be on the top 100 list by Today’s Golfer and was only 50 places behind 15-time major title winner Tiger Woods, who topped it, after only starting up his YouTube business with wife Laura three years ago.
Danny, who lives in Canterbury, said: “We closed the door to the pro shop at Canterbury on January 31, 2020, right at the start of Covid. “It was very, very nerve-racking to have to build up a brand new business from scratch so, to get from there to where we are now, is incredibly satisfying. “To be on any list with Tiger Woods on it is, obviously, bizarre and pretty amazing!
