Manchester United should soon make Mason Mount their first signing of the summer. It's been a long time coming but Erik ten Hag has all but got his top midfield target in the bag.
United had been left frustrated after seeing three bids for Mount rejected but eventually managed to break Chelsea's resolve by compromising on a guaranteed £55million fee with a possible £5million in add-ons.
Mount has agreed a five-year contract with United, completed his medical on Monday and was back at Carrington on Tuesday for his unveiling photoshoot.
But with one midfielder signed, United are considering adding another. Mount's arrival has opened the door for 30-year-old Fred to depart, with Fulham interested in the Brazilian who has a year remaining on his deal.
