A police investigation is underway after fights broke out and a goalkeeper was pushed at a match between Oldham Athletic and Chesterfield FC.

Fans invaded the pitch at the SMH Group Stadium, in Chesterfield, towards the end of the game on Saturday (August 19). Police said fights also broke out 'between a small number of spectators in the ground' while a 'goalkeeper was pushed'.

A 36-year-old man, from Oldham, was arrested. Derbyshire Police said he was questioned 'on suspicion of football offences'. J oin our WhatsAp p Top Stories and Breaking News group by clicking this link . He has since been bailed.

An investigation is now underway, with officers reviewing CCTV footage from the day of the match - which finished 1-1. Anyone with information is being urged to come forward.
