Fifa bans Cristiano Ronaldo’s club Al Nassr from registering new players

Cristiano Ronaldo’s Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr have been banned from registering new players due to “outstanding debts”, Fifa has said.

Former Manchester United and Real Madrid star Ronaldo moved to the Middle East in January, with a host of star names having followed since as the kingdom seeks to build the Saudi Pro League into one of the world’s best.

While some scorned his move to the Saudi league from elite European leagues, Ronaldo's move has seen other superstars also joining him now in the league. And Ronaldo has been breaking records too. In Al Nassr's recent match against  Tunisian club Monastir, Ronaldo scored his first goal of the season with a header in the 74th minute. His team won the match 2-1. With the goal, Ronaldo broke the record of German football legend Gerd Muller, who had 144 goals with headers. Ronaldo now has 145 goals through headers.
