Manchester rail passengers planning a Bank Holiday trip to London are being warned of major disruption at Euston station. Engineering works are set to add several hours to the journey times of passengers travelling from Greater Manchester and the North West.

The station will be closed on Sunday, April 30, for engineering work to make overhead electric wires more resilient against hot weather.

It's set to cause long delays for thousands of Avanti West Coast passengers. They are among more than 600 projects across Britain that will take place. A search on the Avanti West Coast website for a Manchester Piccadilly to London service on Sunday, April 30, shows a journey time of 4hrs 32mins, including a change at Banbury, with trains arriving at London Marylebone.
