Erling Haaland's Premier League record would help Man City meet two Pep Guardiola expectations

Erling Haaland's next goal for Manchester City will be one that will be remembered more than most in his incredible season so far.

Sitting on 49 goals for the season in all competitions, of which 33 have come in the Premier League, Haaland is one away from equalling the all-time record for goals in a Premier League season.

The next goal after that will be played in montages for years to come, as it would break the record outright. Given Haaland's tendency to follow one goal with another, history could be made at Craven Cottage on Sunday as City take on Fulham.

Of the 29 games he's scored in this season, 14 have seen Haaland score more than once, with six hat-tricks. Haaland was unusually wasteful against Arsenal - even though his all-round play was brilliant and Aaron Ramsdale was in inspired form - but he still stayed alert to score in the final minute.
