Erik ten Hag spoke to Manchester United youngster Omari Forson about staying composed after he was substituted in just the 37th minute against Borussia Dortmund in the pre-season friendly of the North America tour.
Forson was one of just a few academy talents to make the first-team travelling squad for the USA tour and he was given the opportunity to start against Dortmund in front of 50,000 fans in Las Vegas on Sunday night.
It was a huge moment for the 19-year-old, but his appearance didn't go as planned as he was substituted off for Antony eight minutes before half-time after receiving a yellow card for an incident with a Dortmund player. ALSO READ: United player ratings vs Dortmund The referee booked Forson and Dortmund's Karim Adeyemi after the pair exchanged heated words and immediately after the incident, Antony was sent to warm-up with a view to replacing the youngster.
The change was made in the 37th minute and the disappointment was visible on Forson's face. He spent a minute talking with Ten Hag on the touchline after being hooked and the manager reminded him of the importance of staying calm. "When there's VAR, he could be sent off.
