Manchester United reportedly want to sign AC Milan midfielder Tijjani Reijnders when the January transfer window opens - even though he only joined the Italian Serie A giants this summer.

The former FC Twente and AZ Alkmaar midfielder, 25, cost Milan around €19million only three months ago. He has earned top marks for his early-season performances in Serie A.

United, meanwhile, continue to have problems with consistency in their engine room despite already making five signings for that position since Erik ten Hag took charge.

They spent £120million on Casemiro and ex-Chelsea player Mason Mount combined over the summer but more arrivals could soon be on the way.
