Erik ten Hag has named an unchanged Manchester United team after a 7-0 defeat against Liverpool because he thinks it's the best possible line-up to win the game.

United suffered the joint-worst defeat in the club's history against Liverpool at Anfield at the weekend and Ten Hag has already reassured supporters the players have been 'left in no doubt' that such a display 'can't be tolerated'.

The Reds have the chance to begin to make amends for that embarrassing defeat against Real Betis in the Europa League on Thursday night and Ten Hag has chosen to name an unnamed line-up for that game, which came as a surprise to most. Ahead of kick-off at Old Trafford, Ten Hag spoke to BT Sport to discuss his starting side and he said: “We want to win, we need a good performance, so we think this team is the best team to make a good performance and to win the game. "They [players] get the opportunity for rehabilitation, but we looked to this game, this is the most important game and we picked the team to give us the best chance of winning the game. "We lowered our standards in the last couple of games.
