Erik ten Hag admits that it is important to have a top goalkeeper at the club amid his interest in signing Andre Onana. Manchester United are optimistic about the prospect of signing Inter Milan goalkeeper Onana to replace David de Gea after he left the club for good last week.
The 27-year-old is United's primary goalkeeping target, with MEN Sport recently revealing John Murtough had discussed the potential parameters of a deal for the Inter man.
Tom Heaton started for United in their pre-season opener against Leeds on Wednesday, with academy youngster Matej Kovar brought on for the second half of the game. "Of course, goalkeeper is a key position, but I am happy with the players we have now," he told reporters in Oslo.
Ten Hag also insisted that Dean Henderson was an option to play in goal next season if a new goalkeeper can't be signed. Henderson did not make the trip to Norway and he wants to leave the club amid Nottingham Forest's interest in signing him permanently.
