Manchester United players have been impressed by the methods of assistant coach Steve McClaren this season. McClaren returned to United in the summer 21 years after leaving the club and sources have spoken highly of his coaching sessions.
United players "love" McClaren's presence and those who were at the club last season have found the training sessions at Carrington more enjoyable under the current staff. Garnacho, 18, made only his tenth start in the midweek victory and McClaren also has input on potential loan moves for certain youngsters.
Erik ten Hag's assistant Mitchell van der Gaag primarily organises training and McClaren is one of the most vocal coaches, with Eric Ramsay also prominent.
