Emergency services have searched a popular beauty spot following 'reports of someone calling for help'. Police, firefighters and a team from Oldham Mountain Rescue descended on Dovestone Reservoir in Saddleworth this afternoon.

In a post on the GMP Saddleworth & Lees Facebook page, officers said: "The Saddleworth & Lees neighbourhood team are currently at Dove Stone and have requested support from our partners Oldham Mountain Rescue and GMFRS.
The use of drones are being used to assist with the search." A Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “At 4.15pm on Monday 31 July, firefighters were called out to Dovestones Reservoir, Greenfield to assist Greater Manchester Police and Oldham Mountain Rescue who were searching the area after reports of someone calling for help. “A fire service drone pilot attended the scene to help search the area and left shortly before 6.30pm when Oldham Mountain Rescue Team and Greater Manchester Police called off the search when no one could be found.”
