Ebbsfleet United sack manager Danny Searle after winless start to National League season

Winless Ebbsfleet United have sacked manager Danny Searle after a dreadful start to the season. The Fleet are bottom of the National League after picking up just one point from their first seven games, losing 4-0 at Altrincham on Saturday, which proved Searle’s final match.

Searle took over after the Fleet sacked Dennis Kutrieb at the end of January. He helped Ebbsfleet retain their National League status with a final-day draw at Boreham Wood.

But after a summer rebuild, Searle’s new-look squad hasn’t impressed this season, conceding 18 goals and scoring just four times.

If you include the lack of wins at the end of last season, it’s been 11 league games without a victory for Ebbsfleet under Searle.
