Doonhamers Amateur Boxing Club has continued its successful start to 2023. The Scottish Schoolboy and Girls 2023 Finals championships, held at Ravenscraig, Motherwell, took place at the weekend.

Blossom Weir took her third title and came home the new Scottish Schoolgirl 48kg champion. She headed to the Scottish Championships off the back of winning the Scottish Western District Title three weeks prior.

The final was against a young girl from Fife and Blossom controlled the bout from start to finish with lovely footwork, front foot boxing and accurate long punches to take each round convincingly on each judge’s score cards.

Head coach Anne Armstrong said: “Since coming to my club Blossom has worked hard, training four days a week, working on all skills in improving her boxing ability.
