Dragons 21-27 Pau: Last-gasp disallowed try denies Dragons victory

walesonline.co.uk

This could prove to be a costly home defeat for Dragons RFC who squandered a late chance to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat against Pau.

The Welsh club were trailing by six points when the clock turned red but Pau's indiscipline meant they still had hope. After Sacha Zegueur was sent to the sin bin for illegally sacking a maul the Dragons proceeded to lay siege to the Pau line.

They thought they had won it when Max Clark powered over the line. Originally, the referee awarded the try but it was disallowed by the television match official with replays confirming the former Bath centre had been held up.

But they had one final chance. They did all the hard work with a beautiful pass from JJ Hanrahan unlocking the Pau defence only for Sio Tomkinson to spill the ball forward with the try line at his mercy.
