Didier Deschamps explains why he is 'surprised' by Christian Eriksen at Manchester United

Didier Deschamps heaped praise on Manchester United midfielder Christian Eriksen before the Dane was voted Man of the Match in his side's 2-0 win over France on Sunday evening.

Eriksen has been superb for United since his arrival this summer. Erik ten Hag added the 30-year-old to his United midfield and has turned to the former Brentford man in every single game so far this season.

Eriksen has started in all six Premier League games under Ten Hag, as he continues to impress the Dutchman with both his close control and stunning range of passing.

Although he has only picked up two assists so far this campaign, the numbers do not come close to highlighting how vital Eriksen has been for United in his short time at the club.
