David de Gea has praised the depth of Manchester United's squad after the Reds' comfortable victory against Everton. Erik ten Hag made the decision to start Harry Maguire against Everton, which meant Raphael Varane was rested.

The start was just Maguire's sixth in the Premier League this season and he played his part in helping to record a clean sheet.

Tyrell Malacia and Aaron Wan-Bissaka also replaced Luke Shaw and Diogo Dalot in the starting side to face Everton at Old Trafford, which meant there were a total of three changes from the backline that started against Brentford. De Gea was hardly troubled throughout the contest and the only criticism of the display was the wastefulness from Ten Hag's side.
