Dartford coach Martin Tyler calls on players to use win over Torquay United as blueprint for rest of National League South campaign

Dartford coach Martin Tyler wants the team to be more consistent. Their topsy-turvy season continued last time out in National League South with a 3-0 home win over Torquay nearly a fortnight ago, inspired by loan duo Richard Chin and George Alexander.

The Darts return to league action at home to leaders Yeovil this Saturday and Tyler wants another big performance from their players. “The new players arrived with a bang against Torquay but we need to keep the right kind of explosions happening on the field for a lot longer before I say that we’ve turned the corner,” said Tyler. “The Torquay win put a few smiles back on faces but it was one game and we’ve got to do it more regularly.

That’s still a big challenge. “Everyone gave a seven, eight or nine out of 10 against Torquay and we’ve got to do that every game.

One of the reasons why the players are at this level is because finding consistency is very difficult.” Meanwhile, Tyler has tipped Alexander to move back up the leagues - on the back of a successful spell at Princes Park.
