Cristiano Ronaldo reportedly called for Harry Maguire to be dropped during Manchester United’s dismal run of form in the 2021/22 season.
Maguire enjoyed a terrific Euro 2020 campaign and went into the campaign with real confidence. But criticism came his way after a plethora of mistakes throughout the campaign.
However, despite his poor form, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Ralf Rangnick both kept faith in Maguire. Ronaldo and some of his United teammates did not have the same confidence in the English defender, though.
And, with United struggling in the middle of the campaign, Ronaldo tried to take matters into his own hands. According to the Athletic, Ronaldo was part of a group of players who went up to Rangnick at Carrington in February this year to voice their displeasure.
