India spinner Ravichandran Ashwin on Saturday has admitted that the 2023 ODI Cricket World Cup could be his last for the team.

His comments came ahead of India's first World Cup warm-up game against England in Guwahati. Ashwin was roped in as replacement after all-rounder Axar Patel was ruled out of the tournament due to an injury.

Ashwin also admitted that his selection came as a shock to him as he "wasn't thinking about" being part of the squad. "I honestly wasn't thinking about being here (talking about his late selection for the World Cup).

Enjoying the game has been my prime motto for the last four to five years and I would like to do that again in this tournament.

Several commentators at the Cricket World Cup 2023 seem to be of the view that the competition lacked spark in its opening stages. The criterion for this appeared to be a dearth of close, exciting, finishes.
The Indian cricket team have been enjoying a brilliant start to their Cricket World Cup 2023 campaign but the Rohit Sharma-led side was dealt a massive blow as all-rounder Hardik Pandya limped off the field after suffering a leg injury during the match against Bangladesh in Pune on Thursday. During the 9th over of the Bangladesh innings, Pandya tried to stop a shot from Litton Das with his right leg but ended up slipping in the process. He landed awkwardly on his left leg and the physio had to rush to the field as Pandya looked in pain. While it looked like Pandya will be able to continue, he was not able to run properly and the team management decided to take him off the attack and hand the ball to Virat Kohli.
Rohit Sharma is on the verge of adding a massive record to his already illustrious career as the Indian cricket team skipper can become the first batter from his country to hit 50 sixes in a calendar year. Right now, Rohit has 47 sixes and if he can hit 3 more sixes in the course of the Cricket World Cup 2023, he will be able to achieve the historic first. Overall, West Indies legend Chris Gayle and former South Africa star AB De Villiers are the only cricketers to achieve this feat. De Villiers tops the list with 58 sixes back in 2015 - a record that Rohit can potentially break considering the number of games left.

While the two teams take each other on the playing field, the fantasy cricket managers have a chance to pick their favourite players and form their teams. The performance of the players on the field will translate to points for each fantasy team picked, and the manager with the team with the most points stands a chance to win attractive prizes.
