The Colts placed starting quarterback Anthony Richardson on injured reserve Wednesday, sidelining him for at least the next four games.
Richardson, who has a sprained AC joint in his right throwing shoulder, had previously been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Jaguars.
Coach Shane Steichen, however, said on Monday the team was still conducting medical evaluations and a final timeline had not been established.
Richardson, the fourth overall pick in this year's draft, sustained the right shoulder injury in Sunday's victory over the Titans when he was tackled from behind by outside linebacker Harold Landry III, leaving him unable to move his right arm.
