Colts' Anthony Richardson (shoulder) to IR, out at least 4 games - ESPN
The Colts placed starting quarterback Anthony Richardson on injured reserve Wednesday, sidelining him for at least the next four games.
Richardson, who has a sprained AC joint in his right throwing shoulder, had previously been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Jaguars. Coach Shane Steichen, however, said on Monday the team was still conducting medical evaluations and a final timeline had not been established.
Richardson, the fourth overall pick in this year's draft, sustained the right shoulder injury in Sunday's victory over the Titans when he was tackled from behind by outside linebacker Harold Landry III, leaving him unable to move his right arm.
Gardner Minshew will take over as the starting quarterback beginning with this week's game at Jacksonville.
Sunday marked the third time Richardson has had an injury situation this season. The 2023 fourth overall pick was pulled from the season opener after taking a hit to a knee, then missed Indianapolis' Week 3 contest against the Ravens after suffering a concussion against the Texans in the previous game.
