Clanna Gael Fontenoy have issued a statement to confirm they are "co-operating fully" with investigations being carried out by the Gardaí and Dublin County Board into an alleged assault on a match official during their minor hurling encounter with Naomh Fionnbarra on Sunday.The match at Sean Moore Park in Dublin 4 was abandoned by the referee early in the second half, with an umpire treated for his injuries by medics and Gardaí called to the scene."Our focus is on the completion of investigations and on the welfare of our players, coaches, volunteers and supporters," Clanna Gael Fontenoy said in the statement. "In particular, we are concerned as to the welfare of our club umpire injured in the course of Sunday's match."Naomh Fionnbarra on Tuesday released a second statement to say that the two adults allegedly involved in a fracas following the abandonment of the game are not, nor ever have been members of the club.Their statement added that as the matter is now under investigation, no further statement or comments will be made.
