A 14-year-old child was left seriously injured after being knocked down by a car in a hit-and-run near a school in Oldham. Emergency services rushed to the scene of the incident on Hollins Road, near the Oasis Academy school, at around 2.30pm yesterday afternoon (Thursday, February 8).
The child was rushed to hospital from the scene. They suffered serious but 'non life-threatening or life-changing' injuries, police said.

An investigation into the incident by Greater Manchester Police's Serious Collision Investigation Unit is now underway. Officers want to speak to any witnesses who saw the crash yesterday afternoon.
