Chelsea are ‘poised for a decision’ on what is a ‘big day’ in the Stamford Bridge outfit’s pursuit of Barcelona striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, according to transfer insider Dean Jones. The Blues have already forked out more than £180million since the summer window opened for business, but head coach Thomas Tuchel could add further fresh faces to his squad ahead of the 11pm deadline on September 1.

According to Sky Sports, Chelsea have entered advanced talks in their bid to land Aubameyang and all parties are optimistic that an agreement will be found.

The report suggests the deal under discussion is thought to be worth between £15million and £25million for the 63-cap Gabon international.

Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Chelsea and Barcelona are due to be in contact, through intermediaries, today as they look to rubber-stamp the switch.
