Chelsea are continuing to explore the possibility of signing Barcelona striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang this summer, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano. Thomas Tuchel has overseen a busy transfer window at Stamford Bridge but could still bolster his side further ahead of the September 1 deadline.

After Romelu Lukaku returned to Inter Milan on loan this summer, Chelsea have been left without a recognised number nine in west London.

A report from Sky Sports last week indicated that the Blues were ready to swoop for Aubameyang, and teammate Frenkie De Jong, if Barcelona allowed the duo to leave the Camp Nou this summer.

Aubameyang left Arsenal for the Catalan giants during the January transfer window after his contract was cancelled by mutual consent.
