St Mirren booked their place in the Viaplay Cup quarter final draw thanks to a Caolan Boyd-Munce stunner that was enough to beat Motherwell 1-0.Stephen Robinson named the same team that beat Dundee in the Scottish Premiership seven days ago.
A game of few clear cut chances was settled by a strike with just eight minutes on the clock - and it was worthy of winning any match.
The ball landed at the foot of Boyd-Munce who cracked his first St Mirren goal into the top corner past Liam Kelly. The Paisley side really took the game by the scruff of the neck and Keanu Baccus was next to have a go but he fired over the bar.
Visitors Motherwell did have a couple of corners in the first half but nothing that directly caused home goalkeeper Zach Hemming any issues.
