Callum Robinson sends six-word message to West Brom supporters during pre-season

Callum Robinson could be set to fall down the pecking order at West Bromwich Albion in pre-season, with Jed Wallace and John Swift arriving on free transfers this summer. Robinson was part of a frustrated Baggies attacking contingent in 2021/22 that was not clinical enough to keep pace with the play-off places in the second half of the season.

Also, being a player that Steve Bruce has inherited, as oppose to brought to the club this summer, it would appear that the 27-year-old has a battle on his hands to nail down a starting berth this pre-season.

The Republic of Ireland international has built a strong reputation over the years as one of the more dangerous forwards in the division, but with the Baggies stockpiling talent in the final third it will be interesting to monitor his playing time next term.

Robinson took to Instagram to express his emotions at the beginning of pre-season. He wrote: “Buzzing to be back with the lads.” A post shared by Callum Robinson (@callumrobinson7) Automatic promotion will be the aim for West Brom heading into this season, and with the newly relegated sides not expected to be as strong as they were last term, it seems likely that there will be an opportunity for a team who did not finish in the top six last season to compete for a top two finish this time around. The Verdict Despite looking like he should have had more, 17 goal contributions is a decent return in the Championship for a player not suited to a number nine position and it does provide a platform for Robinson to build on this upcoming season.
