Callum McGregor reckons Celtic showed why they are champions as they survived the siege against Rangers. And the elated skipper told Kyogo Furuhashi he’s ‘the best striker he’s ever seen’ after his wondrous winner sealed their statement triumph.
McGregor was beaming after a magnificent display helped his team to silence the Ibrox crowd. McGregor was back to his brilliant best and imperious in the middle of the park as he controlled the opening period.
As Rangers attempted to stage a second-half comeback, the captain cajoled and organised to ensure his side saw it through. McGregor and his colleagues had to do it without a single supporter inside the stadium and that just added to his sense of pride.
He said: “It probably makes it even sweeter. It’s a siege mentality where it is everyone in the stadium against you out there.
